As I mentioned in the previous post, I am re-decorating my daughters room! She had been sharing this dresser with my other daughter until a few weeks ago when I scored an entire bedroom set off of Craigslist for $300 (This is a whole other post in itself)
This dresser was mine when I was a little girl and I love it, but not exactly what I was going for in Emmy's new big girl room. So whats a girl to do when she doesn't want to get rid of said dresser? Give it a makeover of course!
I am proud to say I did this one pretty much all by myself! Hubby bought me a sander ( Who would have ever thought I would be excited about recieveing a sander as a gift?) My dad would be proud!:)
All I did was sand her,
Paint her white,
add a little glaze to antique her,
spray paint the existing hardware,
And accessorize!
So in love!
I am so excited to show you the finished room!!! I realize I am an over the top kind of gal and it is not for everyone, but I loooooooooovvvvveeeeee it!
I can not wait to show you all the finished product!!! I am just missing a few little things and I will be done!
I am linking this post to my friend Jen's weekend wrap-up over at Tatertots and Jello ,
Thrifty Decor Chicks before and after party,
And, to Kimba's DIY party at A Soft Place To Land
that looks amazing and i love the wall color!!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks amazing! Congrats on the sanding... that's the part that always holds me back!! You made me a believer, I can do it!!!
ReplyDeletewell, now I am really motivated, because I have the sister dresserS (Armoire, nightstand, and dresser with mirror) I have been thinking about painting them, and now I know how cute they will look! I can't wait to see the rest of the room, but what I've seen so far...I like!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks great, but helloooo loving the tray for $2.50! What a clever idea!
ReplyDeleteOh wow... it is gorgeous! Great job! I can't wait to see the entire room. I love the lamp too... so cute!

ReplyDeleteOOHHH! I can't wait to see it!!! I am so excited for Emmy (you, too :))
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with the lamp!! I love your rosettes and thought of you my last trip to Anthropologie! Better than them, though, you do it for so cheap! That is the best part. You do have a gift. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Sari- I think you and I are soul craft sisters! I got an orbital sander for my birthday last year and I was sooooo excited! The dresser looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Can't wait to see the whole room!
ReplyDeleteYour dresser came out fabulously.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a color change makes. It looks very lovely.
What a great idea putting the silohuette on the hot pink tray.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the room.
Have a great day,
Blessings, Nellie
So cute Sari!! Love it all!! Good Job! I'm still waiting for you to take a trip to Gilbert to redecorate my home!!! No joking!
ReplyDeleteWow! $300 for a whole bedroom set? What a great deal and I love how the dresser turned out!
ReplyDeleteLove the dresser!! Its amazing what a little white paint does to furniture! I paint practically everything white because it just matches so well! I'm curious though...what glaze did you use? I have been wanting to start using glazes to give stuff some age and depth but haven't known what to use. Can you tell me the name and brand? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Great job on transforming the dresser! It looks amazing! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful transformation! I can't wait until we have warmer weather...then I'll haul some furniture outside and start painting! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous!!!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Love your transformation! And especially love the shutter on top! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks fabulous and everything works so well together (the dresser, the accessories, the wall color). Very nice combination!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love the effect of the glaze. I have three boys (7, 5 and 2), so I don't get to do any "girly" stuff. This was fun for me to look at and enjoy!
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect piece she is now, especially against that gorgeous blue wall. i've never tried a glaze but now i'm convinced i've been missing out!
ReplyDeleteI love how it turned out. Very shabby chic (which I love!). The hardware looks great re-painted too! You did an awesome job!
ReplyDeleteLooking great! Can't wait to see the finished room.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good with color.
Beautiful! What a fantastic finish!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job! That dresser is just beautiful! And her room is so cute. I love that platter too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking it up to my party!!!
XOXO
